US house cleaning prices, taken from the companies that publish them
What house cleaning costs across the US, from the companies that publish their rates
House Cleaning Index states a cleaning price only where a company publishes one itself. Each state and city range is an aggregate of those published rates, shown with the number of companies behind it, the date it was read and the provider table it was computed from. Prices customers report in reviews are excluded, and the method page measures why.
The states with their own price range are the ones where enough companies publish a rate to state one. Every one of them is linked below, without exception.
Wisconsin has 26 companies publishing a rate, a median of $150 per visit.
Which states do not have enough published rates?
The states that do not have enough published rates are listed here with the exact sample each one rests on, because a handful of prices cannot carry a range.
These 18 states do not have a page of their own: too few companies publish a rate there to state a range. Their measured figures are listed here instead, with the exact sample each one rests on.

Which cities have their own price range?
The cities with their own price range are the metros where at least twenty companies that serve the city publish a rate. Every other city that earns a page inherits its state’s range and says so in its first paragraph.
Tampa has 29 companies publishing a rate, a median of $172 per visit.
How do you read a price range here?
You read a price range here in three steps.
Start with the unit. A flat or per-visit price and an hourly price are different quantities, and the page separates them instead of blending them into one average.
Check the sample size. The number next to every range is how many companies published a rate, not how many businesses the page lists.
Open the provider table. The table under each range is the dataset it was computed from, with every rate linking to the page it was read from.
What moves a cleaning rate?
What moves a cleaning rate is the unit it is priced in, the scope of the service and the size and frequency of the job.
